Amonhotep III, Neb Maat Re (Amon is pleased) (Ra is the Lord of Truth):
Pharaoh c.1405-1367 BC. Father of Amonhotep IV by the Great Kings wife
Teye. He had at least five other wives.
Teye:
Great Kings wife of Amonhotep III, Mother of Amonhotep IV
and at
least five other children. Daughter of Yuya and Thuya.
Gilukhipa:
Princess of Mitanni, daughter of King Shutarna II.
Given to
Amonhotep III as a wife for political reasons.
Tadukipa:
Princess of Mitanni, niece of Gilukhipa. Given to
Amonhotep III
as a wife for political reasons.
Thutmose (Toth is born):
Eldest son, and crown prince, of
Amonhotep III
and Teye. Would have been Thutmose V but he died before his father.
Amonhotep IV, Nefer Kheperu Wa en Re, later Akhenaten (Amon is pleased)
(Beautiful are the forms
of Ra, Unique one of Ra) (Benefical to the Aten):
Pharaoh c.1367-1350 BC.
Married to Nefertiti and Kia. Father of at least six daughters and one son,
possibly two.
Nefertiti, Nefer Neferu Aten (The Beautiful on has come) (Beautiful
is the
Beauty of the Aten):
Kings Great Wife of Akenaten; mother of his six
daughters.
Meryaten (Beloved of Aten):
Eldest daughter of Akhenaten
and Nefertiti,
later Great Kings Wife of Smenkhare. Possibly also married to her father.
Meketaten (Protected by Aten):
Second daughter of Akhenaten a
nd Nefertiti,
died in childbirth at a young age. Buried in family tomb.
Ankhesenpaaten later Ankhesenamon (She lives for the Aten [Amon]):
Third daughter of Akhenaten and Nefertiti, married consecutively to her
father (?); her half brother, Tutankhamon; and her grandfather (?), Ay.
Neferneferuaten Tashert (Beautiful is the beauty of the Atem - Junior):
Fourth daughter of Nefertiti and Akhenaten. Nothing is known of her.
Neferneferure (Beautiful is the beauty of Ra):
Fifth daughter of Akhenaten and Nefertiti. Nothing is known of her.
Setepenre (Chosen on of Ra):
Sixth daughter of Nefertiti and Akhenaten. Nothing is known of her.
Merytaten Tashert (Beloved of Aten - Junior):
Daughter of Merytaten and her father?
Ankhesenpaaten Tashert (She lives for the Aten - Junior):
Daughter of Ankhesenpaaten and her father?
Kia:
Secondary wife of Akhenaten. Very possibly the mother of Tutankkhamon, and
possible Smenkhare, by Akhenaten. Titles included the phrases "the favorite",
"wife", "beloved" and "the lady".
Smenkhare, Nefer Neferu Aten Wa en Re (Invigorating is the Soul of Ra)
(Beautiful is the Beauty of Aten) (Unique one of Ra):
A rather enigmatic character that may of may not have had a co-regency with
Akhenaten. He may or may not have been his son by Kia, and was
presumably married to Akenaten's eldest daughter Merytaten.
Tutankhaten, Neb Kheperu Re, later Tutankhamon (The Living image of Aten)
(Ra is the Lord of Transformations) (The Living image of Amon):
Pharaoh from c.1347-1339 BC. Son of Akhenaten by Kia? Married to his
half-sister(?) Ankhesenpaaten, who later changed her name to Ankesenamon.
Ay, Kheper Kheperu Re (Oh! [an interjection]) There will be transformations
of Ra):
"The devine father". Pharaoh from c1339-1335 BC. Father(?) of Nefertiti,
grandfather(?) of Ankhesenamon (Ankesenpaaten), whom he married when he
claimed the throne after the death of Tutankhamon.
Benetmut (Sweetness of Mut):
Younger sister of Nefertiti. Apparently a favorite of the Royal Family.
Mutnodjme (Pleasing to Mut):
Sister of Nefertiti?
Married Horemheb.
Some Other Important personages
Horemheb Meryamon, Djeser Kheperure Setepenre (Horus is in Celebration)
(Beloved on Amon) (Holy are the forms of Ra) (The chosen one of Ra):
Successor to Ay and Pharaoh from c.1335-1308 BC. He had been "Great Commander
of the Army" under Tutankhamon. Married Nefertiti's sister(?), Mutnokjme.
Ramose (Born of Ra):
Vizier to both Amonhotep III and Akhenaten. Tomb at Qurna, tamb at Akhetaten.
Possibly
buried in a tomb at Sakkara, although he would have been quite old if this
was the same person.
Tutu (Fair):
Chamberlain of Egypt. Unfinished tomb in southern group.
Any:
Scribe to Akhenaten and Overseer of Works. One of the three tombs at
Akhetaten that was used. Tomb is in the Southern Group.
May:
Fanbarer on the Right of the King. Unused tomb in the Southern Group.
Probably the individual known as maya during later times, who was
Royal treasurer to Tutankhamon and also in the service of Horemheb. Maya was
buried at Sakkara.
Nachtpaaten (The Aten is victorious):
Chancellor and Vizier. Unused tomb in the Southern Group.
Nefer Kheper Her Sekheper (Beautiful changes take place):
Mayor of Akhetaten. Unused tomb in the Southern Group.
Suti:
Standard Bearer. Unused tomb in the Southern Group.
Sutau:
Overseer of the Treasury. Unused tomb in the Southern group.
Paatenemhab (The one who trusts Aten):
Royal Scribe. Unused tomb in the Southern Group.
Huya:
Superintendent of the Harem and Steward of Queen Teye. Tomb at Akhetaten was
used, located int eh Nothern Group.
Meryre I:
High Priest of the Aten. Unused tomb in the Northern Group.
Meryre II:
Royal Scribe. Overseer of the two Treasuries and Overseer of the harem of
Nefertiti. Unused tomb in Nothern Group.
Ahmose:
Fan Bearer to the Right of the King. Unused tomb in the Northern Group.
Pentu:
Royal Scribe and Chief Physician. Unused tomb in the Northern Group.
Panehesi (The Nubian):
Chief Servantof the Aten. Unused tomb in the Northern Group.
Mahu:
Commandant of the Police. Unused tomb in the Southern Group.
