Welcome to Museum Tours
Why travel with Museum Tours?

See more. Our trips are each individually designed by Dr. William Petty for the travel enthusiast. Representative sights and monuments from throughout Egypt's history are included to present a continuity and perspective you simply won't find with typical package tours. Of course, you'll see all of the major sights, but you will also visit many lesser known but equally interesting places. And some of our special tours features visits to sites that are closed to the general public.

Have more quality time. We plan our schedule so you have more time at the more important attractions. While most tours spend a couple of hours on the Giza plateau, most of our tours spend an entire day. Most visitors to Egypt get to spend about three or four hours on the West Bank at Luxor, location of the Valley of the Kings. We don't believe you can do justice to all the wonderful sights that are there in less than two days.

Do more. Our trips feature a two hour walking tour of the Giza plateau, where you'll see things you could never see from a bus. On any tour, you will visit the Valley of the Kings. A few even include Deir el Medina, the village of the workers who built the Kings' Tombs. On our Odyssey trip you may, but only if you want, join us as we hike the 3,500 year old path of the workers, from the workers' village, over the hill, to the Valley of the Kings.

Experience more quality. It's not difficult to find a tour that uses only 5-Star hotels. But we stay, whenever possible, in Historic 5-Star hotels, like the Mena House located at the base of the Pyramids, built as a royal hunting lodge by Khedive Ismail and enlarged in 1869 when the Suez Canal was built, so he could entertain his guests in grand style. Or the new wing of the 5-Star Winter Palace Hotel, the only hotel where wealthy English families would consider staying during the days of the "Grand Tour".

Have less crowds. The sights in Egypt are worth seeing under any conditions, but on our trips you will get the benefit of our "counter-programming". To the extent possible, we monitor other groups and arrange our schedule to avoid the inevitable crowds (of course on the cruises we are subject to the boat's schedule).

Learn more. Each of our tours has it own unique properties. Whether the trip you select has a designated study leader or you rely on our reading list and pre-trip planner, the fact that we have taken all of the above measurers to make your trip the best possible, ensures that you will learn more when you travel with Museum Tours.
