This 12-day tour was designed for those with limited time, but still want to enjoy a Nile cruise. It covers the major sights of Cairo, Luxor and Aswan.

Day 1, Monday - Cairo
You will be met upon your arrival in Cairo and assisted through passport control and customs. Our van will then drive you to your hotel, located near the pyramids.

Day 2, Tuesday - Cairo
After breakfast, you and your guide will visit the Pyramids at Giza. Explore inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the ageless Sphinx, and the Valley Temple of Khafra.
Option: Experience the excitement of a Camel ride.
You can relax at the hotel for the afternoon, or join your guide and return to the Giza Plateau for a walking tour to visit the Pyramids of Khafra and Menkaura, with the remains of their mortuary temples, the tombs of several nobles of the Old Kingdom and an ancient stone quarry.

Step pyramid at Saqqara Egypt

Day 3, Wednesday - Cairo / Luxor
A visit to the ancient necropolis at Saqqara will begin your day. Sites include: the Step Pyramid complex of Djoser, the world's first pyramid, the Pyramid of Unas with its pyramid texts and causeway, the Tomb of the Brothers, the Mastaba tomb of Kagemni and the Pyramid of Teti. After a late lunch you will be driven to the ancient capital of Memphis with its magnificent Colossus of Rameses, before catching your evening flight to Luxor.

Day 4, Thursday - Luxor
After breakfast, your guide will take you to visit Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex in the world, built over a period of more than 1,500 years. After lunch you will cross the Nile to visit the Ramesseum, the mortuary temple of Rameses II, and Medinet Habu, temple of Rameses III. The day will end with a spectacular after dark tour of Luxor Temple.

Day 5, Friday - Luxor
After an early breakfast a ferry will take you across the Nile to visit the West Bank. Begin your day by visiting the ancient workers village at Dier el Medina. Then it is on to the Valley of the Kings, burial place for the great kings of the 18th, 19th and 20th dynasties, where you will be able to visit several of the most interesting and beautifully decorated tombs, including the Tombs of Tutankhamen, Seti I and Rameses VI.

Day 6, Saturday - Luxor
Today you will tour the Valley of the Queens, including the beautiful and touching tomb of Khaemwaset, a son of Rameses III, and the Tomb of Nefertari, the most beautiful of all. You will finish your morning with a visit to Dier El Bahri and the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon, the giant statues of Amenhotep III, before you return to the East bank and check into your Nile Cruise Boat.

Day 7, Sunday - Luxor
You will visit the the beautiful Luxor Museum before your boat sets sail for Aswan.

Day 8, Monday - Edfu / Kom Ombo / Aswan
This morning you will visit Edfu. Horse drawn carriages will take you to the stupendous, Ptolemaic Temple of Horus, the best preserved temple on the Nile. Your boat then sets sail to visit the twin Temples of Horus, the falcon headed god, and Sobek, the crocodile god, at Kom Ombo, in the afternoon. You will arrive at Aswan late this evening.

Day 9, Tuesday - Aswan
Today a short drive and boat ride will take us to Agilkia Island, new site of the Temple of Isis at Philae, considered by many to be the most beautiful temple in Egypt. Visit the Unfinished Obelisk of the female Pharaoh, Hatshepsut, at the ancient granite quarry.

Day 10, Wednesday - Aswan / Cairo
The morning is free to discover the sights and sounds of Aswan. Explore the local market or just relax by the pool.
Option: Fly to visit the fabled temples of Abu Simbel, built by Ramses II, for himself and his wife, Nefertari.
Return to Aswan in time for lunch and a relaxing sail in a felucca on the Nile before your flight to Cairo.

Beneath what is known as the Cave Church, where the Holy Family is believed to have stayed on their journey

Day 11, Thursday - Cairo
Explore Old Cairo and learn about its Christian (Coptic) and Jewish past. Visit the Citadel of Saladin and the Alabaster Mosque. This afternoon explore the Grand Egyptian Museum (if open) or the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square with the Treasures of Tutankhamun. Finally, a visit to the famed Khan el Khalili bazaar for your farewell dinner will complete your day.
