All tours
depart from New York on Saturday and return to New York on Sunday
of the following week. Tours operate throughout the year. This is
our lowest priced tour; only $1,495 per person in double, excluding international airfare. A holiday surcharge applies
for departures in December (Christmas Holiday) and Spring Break (usually
in April).
This fully guided tour is designed primarily for
the first time visitor to Egypt, who has limited time and is traveling
on a budget. It is a 9 day, 8 night, trip which includes visits to
the most important and famous pharonic monuments in Egypt. A high
standard of quality is maintained throughout, including stays in four-star
hotels on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 1, Saturday
Travel
to New York on your own in time to meet your 6:30 pm flight on Egypt
Air from New York to Cairo.
Day 2, Sunday
Upon arrival in Cairoyou will be met by a Museum Tours Representative, who will assist
you with checked luggage, passport control and customs. You will then
be driven through Cairo to your 4-star hotel. The rest of the evening
is free to relax and get over your jet lag.
Day 3, Monday
After breakfast,
you and your guide visit the Pyramids at Giza. Explore inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu and visit the Solar Boat Museum (both
are Extra cost options) if you choose. See the ageless Sphinx of
Khafra with its valley temple. Visit the ancient necropolis at Saqqara.
Sites include: the Step Pyramid complex of Djoser (the world's first
pyramid), and the Mastaba tomb of Ptah-hotep . You will then visit
the ancient capital of Memphis with its magnificent and beautifulColossus of Ramses before returning to the hotel.
Day 4, Tuesday
Explore
the Egyptian Museum with the Treasures of Tutankhamen and the Royal
Mummy Room (Extra cost option) . After lunch on your own visit
the Citadel of Saladin and the Alabaster Mosque before flying
to Luxor.
Day 5, Wednesday
This morning your guide will take
you to visit Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex in the world.
Later we will have a chance to explore Luxor Temple. There will be
plenty of time in the late afternoon to visit the Bazaar.
Day 6, Thursday
After an early breakfast you will cross the Nile to
visit the West Bank. Begin your day by visiting the Valley of the
Kings, burial place for the great kings of the 18th, 19th and 20th
dynasties. where you will be able to visit several of the most interesting
tombs open to the public. The Tomb of Tutankhamen is an Extra
cost option. You will then tour Dier El Bahri and the Temple
of Hatshepsut, Medinet Habu, and the Colossi of Memnon, the giant
statues of Amenhotep III.
Day 7, Friday
This is a free day to
explore Luxor on your own. Take a carriage ride through the local
market, explore monuments not covered in the itinerary, or relax as
you sail the Nile on a felucca.
Day 8, Saturday
In the morning, fly
to Cairo and check into your 4-star hotel. The rest of the day you
are on your own. You can revisit your favorite sights, relax, or shop
in the famed Khan el Khalili bazaar .
Day 9, Sunday
Leave Cairo and
return to New York and then home.
Optional side tour: On Friday and
Saturday you can select an optional tour to Aswan and Abu Simbel,
the fabulous rock-cut temple of Rameses the Great. One of most spectacular
monuments in Egypt, it was saved from the rising waters of the Aswan
High Dam through an international effort.
